The Crown Inn is a traditional freehold country pub in the Polden village of Catcott, just off the A39 between the popular towns of Bridgwater and Glastonbury.
Our idyllic pub is over 400 years old and has the warmth and character so many pubs have lost over the years retaining the wonderful open log fire (great on a chilly night), original flagstone floors, cob walls and low beamed ceilings. Perfectly accompanying by our fantastic selection of cask ales, wines and ciders served to perfection.
We may be well known for creative home cooked food but we always have a busy pub full of our local villagers popping in for a pint and chat

It can be easy on a warm sunny day to give a good review of a pub ,but the welcoming smile of the innkeeper at the Crown made up for the day being one of the grayest and wettest of our year.We ordered food that was brought to our camper van. It was piping hot, tasty and accompanied by two refreshing pints of rose cider.Lovely pub out of the way will call back when passing Taunton again

We went here twice during our stay in Edington. Once to watch the football - was a great experience watching it with the friendly locals on the big screen. Then we went back later in the week for dinner. The couple who run it are very friendly and efficient and we really enjoyed the pub food - I had scampi and chips served with a good salad and my husband had steak and chips and this was cooked to perfection. We loved the desserts too! The ladies loos are so thoughtfully kitted out with everything a woman could need - so lovely. It's a popular spot and I'm glad we booked in advance. A great local pub

With a function room holding upto 100 people and conveniently positioned next to our large garden area, we're prepared to accommodate any events and functions.
We are also able to provided a fully equipped bar with cask ales and draught lager and cider plus all the usual wines and spirits.
Private carvery’s are available for parties of 40 or more

Of our two beer gardens, Our large beer garden is the perfect place to relax in the sun and let your food in the idyllic somerset levels.
On and off site catering
At the Crown we love it when you come to us – but we are also happy to come to you and cater for all types of events, whether happy or sad.
We offer an all completely individual quote to suit your budget and requirements from rustic style buffets or formal silver service banquets and hog roasts, we pride ourselves on cooking and preparing all the food ourselves using local meats and produce where ever possible.
Please note that we don't provide hot food for our off-site catering.
camping
Camping Facilities
We have a large car park and welcome touring caravans and motor homes to stay over. We have plenty of space, but please call us to let us know you’re coming so we can ensure we have adequate space for you.
Electric is available at £10 a night fee, we have waste disposal and water available, the pub is open every evening from 6 pm.
Dogs are welcome but we ask you to keep them on the lead in garden and play area. Please let us know if you wish to dine with your furry companions so we can make sure you have a suitable table.
